The Real Party of Racism

by Joe McCarthy

Forget Robert Byrd. The recently deceased West Virginia Democrat, much maligned for his membership in the Ku Klux Klan over sixty years ago, is a minor blip in the Democrat Party's list of largely unheralded racist stalwarts (especially given his repeated apologies). The media may be fond of overlooking such inconvenient facts, but a proper chronicling is overdue.

MEChA

Democrats have long been given a pass over their ties to Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (or MEChA). The radical group, which is clearly racist and separatist (its motto is "For La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada"; translated as "For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing,") is generally simply ignored by the left-wing press, as are the connections of several prominent Democrats to the group. Among these are:

Raul Grijalva

A member of Congress representing Arizona's 7th district, Grijalva once referred to Americans concerned with illegal immigration as "cockroaches." An admitted member of MEChA in college, he has refused to denounce the group or apologize for having been a member.

Joe Baca

Representing California's 43rd congressional district is Democrat Joe Baca. He too has been in MEChA's ranks and is unrepentant.

Antonio Villaraigosa

A member of MEChA during his days at UCLA, Villaraigosa, the current Mayor of Los Angeles, initially blew off criticism of his links to the group. When pressed further on a second occasion, he renounced MEChA's revanchist ideology, sort of. During a campaign press conference he conceded that the group's views are radical, but lamely rationalized his membership by stating that "Most of the young Latinos who attended universities belonged to MEChA."

One could have said much the same for Nazi Party membership among young Germans in the 1930's.

Cruz Bustamante

The former Lt. Governor of California, Bustamante refused to apologize for his past MEChA membership, ludicrously asserting that the organization is merely trying to aid in helping Hispanics obtain an education. During his run for Governor in 2003, he offered an even more implausible explanation: "I think the actuality of what takes place in those organizations is to provide student leadership."

Yeah, and the Klan just met for beer, too.

Add to this list Illinois Congressman Bobby Rush, a former 'Deputy Minister of Defense' for the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party, and you have quite a cast of characters in the party of 'tolerance.’

And this list is far from exhaustive. A thorough rundown of racists infesting the Democrats is still yet to be done, but the above should be kept in mind next time some liberal loudmouth regales us with apocryphal tales of racist Tea Partiers or other silliness.
